Open Sky Community Services is currently recruiting Relief Counselors to work in our Adult Mental Health and Developmental Residential Programs in the Worcester, Auburn, and West Boylston area. Relief Counselors are a vital resource for programs to utilize in filling vacant shifts. These residential programs provide support to individuals who have a mental health and developmental challenges.
Shifts available are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts on weekdays, weekends and overnights. Applicants for a relief position must be available to work a minimum of four 8 hour shifts per month.

The Employment Facilitator position supports people who have a developmental disability on the job. Employment Facilitators provide transportation and overall support and direction to people as they perform their job at employers in the local community. Employment Facilitators are required to be trained in Medication Administration and SOLVE, a passive restraint system. Paid training is provided.

The Coordinator of Employment Supports oversees a community based employment program serving adults with developmental disabilities. The Coordinator of Employment Services supervises a team of Employment Facilitators and assists individuals to set goals and report on outcomes. This position is a Monday-Friday First shift position.

The Residential Counselor assists people served to set goals. reports on outcomes, provides assistance with meals, transportation, and medications and facilitates involvement in the local community.
Schedule for this position typically runs either Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday between the hours of 8am and 10pm depending on the needs of the program.

The Work Supervisor position is a 30 hour per week position with a schedule of Monday-Friday. The Work Supervisor supports people who have a developmental disability to attain and maintain employment, volunteer, or other valued roles within the community. The Work Supervisor provides transportation, behavior management support, and assistance with personal hygiene to people served.

The Awake Overnight Counselor - DDS Services provides support to individuals with during the overnight hours. In the morning, the Awake Overnight Counselor assists with morning routines including personal hygeine, meal preparation, medication administration, and transportation.

The Driver position provides transportation to people supported in the Leominster Apartment Supports Program. The Driver may bring people to appointments, grocery shopping, or other community destinations. The driver is expected to provide support and interventions as appropriate during transportation. This position involves significant driving in the employee’s personal vehicle.

The Awake Overnight Counselor - MH Services provides support in a residential setting during the overnight hours to people who have mental illness.
Shifts are 10 hours per night beginning at 10pm and ending at 8am.

The Bridge House is a Group Living Environment that provides a community residence and rehabilitative services for five men and women living with serious and persistent mental illness. The goal is to assist adults in developing the skills needed for independent living. This program offers Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), Peer Support, and utilizes adventure-based groups and Supported Employment through the on-site day program.
Alternatives provides excellent supervision (both individual and group), as well as various trainings in which to obtain CEU’s, and opportunities for advancement. Alternatives is an eligible employer for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program and provides tuition reimbursement for continuing education.

The program is designed to foster recovery, to teach the skills necessary for individuals to live successfully in the community, and to transition to independent living. This program uses Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) as the primary treatment model and offers Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Supported Employment and Peer Support.

Webster Intensive Group Living Environment is a residence that serves individuals referred by the Department of Mental Health. This structured residence is designed to assist individuals with previous attempts at community living to learn new skills that will help them to be successful in the community and prepare for transition to less restrictive environments. Next Step utilizes Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) and Supported Employment as treatment models and offers Peer Support. The Transitions program offers Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Peer Support, and Supported Employment as treatment models.

This specialized residential treatment program provides a comprehensive, therapeutic living environment for eight men and women with mental health and substance abuse challenges. The goal is to assist in managing co-existing illnesses, while helping the adults develop independent living skills, transition to a more independent setting, and maintain their sobriety. The program offers a variety of groups including relapse prevention and Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Peer Support and Supported Employment.
