Description and Responsibilities

Open Sky's Respite Programs are short-term group living environments that provide treatment of intermittent crisis and stabilization for adults who are diagnosed with a mental health and/or substance use disorder. The goal of the Respite program is to work collaboratively with individuals to develop skills to maintain their independence in the community and live a life that is not defined by their mental illness. 

 

The Assistant Program Coordinator takes on a leadership role working alongside Residential Counselors to provide direct support to people served and provides direct supervision to the overnight staff (this is not an overnight position).  They also provide administrative assistance to the Program Coordinator and assist with program scheduling, budgets and team meetings. 

 

Other Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living, which includes direct care duties, hygiene (personal care), lifting, assisting with transfers, medication administration, documentation, assisting with group therapy, transportation, behavioral intervention, role modeling, and recreational activities. 
  • Implement activities that facilitate the development of valued roles and personal relationships in the community.
  • Assist with staff supervision and other assigned meetings.
  • Participate in on-call rotation. 

The organization recognizes skills, training and population served in certain programs by offering an additional hourly differential. This program has an additional .50 per hour differential for the population served. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. required. 
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
  • Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
