Description and Responsibilities

Adult Community Clinical Services is a Department of Mental Health funded service that is designed to deliver evidence-based interventions within a clinically focused model. Individuals served are diagnosed with mental illness or dual diagnosis and reside in their own homes, apartments, and in group living environments. Our services focus on helping people transition to a more independent environment while maximizing their natural supports by building skills and achieving personal goals. The teams are tight knit, supportive and multidisciplinary. Open Sky’s talented clinicians, substance use counselors, nurses, peer staff, housing counselors, outreach counselors, and direct care staff provide quality, compassionate care to the individuals served.

 

The Coordinator of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services will oversee other members of the team who are also providing direct support to adults in the community. The Coordinator will be responsible for hiring and supervising effective team members, providing ongoing supervision and evaluation, as well as will be a point of contact for collaterals in the community. Coordinators will ensure that every person who is deaf or hard of hearing and is supported by Open Sky will have access to the treatment and supports they need.

 

Other Key Responsibilties:

  • Maintain a working relationship with interpreter services to ensure quality of services.
  • Ensure optimum coverage through the development and monitoring of the schedule ensuring that each individual’s needs are understood and met to the best of our ability.
  • Cultivate mutually respectful partnerships, set appropriate limits, and maintain a helping role with people served and family members.
  • Collaborate with Individuals Served, Licensed Clinician, Registered Nurse, and other members of the team in the implementation and monitoring of any self management and health and wellness plans and activities.
  • Participate in the On-Call rotation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
  • Applicants must be a part of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community themselves. Fluency in American Sign Language, required.
  • Experience working with adults with mental health challenges, required.
  • Previous supervisory experience, required. 
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record, required.
