Description and Responsibilities

Open Sky’s Community Supports Program is a Mass Health funded navigator service that provides case management and care coordination to individuals in the community. Individuals served in the program must have a mental health disorder or co-occurring disorder and be considered at high risk for admission to a 24-hour treatment setting.

 

The Recovery Coach Supervisor oversees all aspects of the recovery coaching services to include hiring, supervision, mentoring, and evaluating Recovery Coaches and operates within the philosophy of Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing and the Housing First Model and foster empowerment for the persons served. They also facilitate weekly staff meeting, co-facilitate monthly team meetings of Harm Reduction Specialists, Recovery Coaches and other team members as well as provide oversight to caseload management and staff caseload assignments.  

 

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate to ensure that client interactions with support services and interventions are as person centeredstrength based and recovery oriented. 
  • Oversee completion of all Assessments and Wellness Plans according to prescribed timelines and specifications. Complete wellness plans with individuals served as needed. 
  • Serve as a recovery guide and role model in the management of recovery and assist the individuals served to identify and overcome barriers to recovery. 
  • Discloses their own recovery story with the express goal of communicating hope and advocating for change. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation, required.
  • Must have lived experience with recovery and be able to provide recovery support safely and effectively. Must be willing and able to share path to recovery and lived experience of recovery with members.
  • Must complete the “Supervision of Recovery Coaches and Other Peer Workers” training within 3 months of hire.
  • Must be a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC).
