Description and Responsibilities

Open Sky's Clubhouses are a member of the Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition, an organization comprising 33 clubhouses throughout the Commonwealth and is a community dedicated to the rehabilitation of adults recovering from mental illness. Through a variety of meaningful and engaging tasks, members have the ability to develop or refresh employment skills, explore educational opportunities, and participate in social activities. 

 

The Employment and Education Specialist is responsible for the functioning and management of the Clubhouse Employment and Education program. They will also engage and support members in their pursuit of meaningful employment opportunities, including but not limited to job site training, and will assist members in accessing and connecting with educational resources.

 

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Train on and uphold the philosophy and concepts of the Fountain House Model.
  • Maintain accurate details of member employment and education data, and work with Clubhouse Director to report monthly data.
  • Facilitate relevant discussions and activities on topics related to employment and education, and encourage active participation among members.
  • Promote the Clubhouse as a valued service to businesses and other community stakeholders, for the purpose of establishing relationships to develop employment opportunities for members

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history, required.
  • Experience with the Clubhouse model and working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders, highly desired. 
  • Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
