Description and Responsibilities

Open Sky Community Services is seeking a Housing Manager to work within the Property Services division to support individuals living in subsidized housing. The Housing Manger will collaborate with housing specialists, property services and program staff to manage landlord maintenance issues and will manage all agency contract administration obligations related to Federal and State Grants, Facilities Consolidation Fund, HOME Funds, Housing Stabilization Funds, Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and HUD-Section 8.

 

The Housing Manager will also coordinate and attend DMH physical plant inspections for new and renewing RASP leases, assist the Director of Housing and the ACCS Housing Specialists in the selection process for new apartments to ensure that the unit(s) meet housing quality standards and all subsidy rules and regulations.

 

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between Funders (DDS, DMH etc), Local Housing Authorities, Staff and Individuals served with regards to the administration of state, federal and local housing subsidies. This includes inspections and reports.
  • Maintain database of subsidy recipients addresses, leasing information and rental amounts for DMH.
  • Collaborate with the Business Office, Landlords and ACCS Housing Specialists to ensure that subsidies are paid in accordance with the terms of the lease.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
  • Valid Drivers license and acceptable driving history, required.
  • Previous experience in the management and administration of multiple residential and/or commercial properties, required.
  • Knowledge of application process for state and federal subsidies, such as HUD, required. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
